A revolver by August Francotte, made for Gebrüder Maurer, Vienna, ca. 1870 Cal. 11,3mmGasserNo1, SN. 151, six-shot. ELG proof mark. Octagonal 155 mm barrel with rough, corroded bore. On barrel rib company name "Gebrüder Maurer Wien". Various marks "Krone/AF" for August Francotte. On the left of the barrel root "Acier Fondu". Metal parts bright and finely pitted, the former bluing only visible on the loading flap. Side case ejector. Sparse decoration of line engravings. Heavily worn walnut grip panels. Lanyard ring. SA/DA function. Functioning, somewhat lame mechanism. Length approx. 29 cm. Interesting revolver which combines characteristics of the Gasser and the Meyers patent revolvers.
