A German pinfire revolver by Heinrich Riffelmann in Solingen, circa 1860 Cal. 12mm pinfire, SN. 18963, rifled barrel, rough bore, length 15 cm, on barrel root stamped crown with "V", caliber and maker. Engraved six-shot cylinder. Side loading flap, case ejector on the right. Frame lightly engraved en suite. Folding trigger. Surfaces pitted, patinated and spotted. Walnut grip panels with chequering. Lanyard ring. Signs of age and use. Length 28 cm. A GOOD 12mm (PINFIRE) LEFAUCHEUX PATENT REVOLVER, serial no. 69674, in a later case, circa 1875, with round blued 6 3/16in. barrel signed on the left side of barrel throat 'E. LEFAUCHEUX. INVR. BREVETE', applied raised blued sighting rib with wishbone top-strap, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, blued six-shot cylinder with ratchet locking and open scroll engraving, scroll engraved action (traces of colour), double action mechanism, angled chequered walnut grip with lanyard ring to the engraved domed heel-plate, guarded trigger and plunge ejector, much original finish remaining and in a later oak casing lined and compartmented in green baize together with some inert reproduction rounds, a brass double cavity mould (possibly period) and a later turn-screw and cleaning rod. Sold as an exempt item under Section 58 (2) of the 1968 Firearms Act, to be held as a curiosity or ornament
