Description
A flintlock pistol, probably Bohemian, circa 1780 Smooth bore barrel in 12.5 mm caliber. Finely engraved and chiselled flintlock with hunting and floral designs. Lavishly carved full stock with horn nose cap. Brass furniture with remnants of gilding, finely engraved in relief with courtly, hunting and architectural scenes between rocaille ornaments. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. Iron parts patinated and somewhat rough, forearm on the right with a crack in the area of the barrel bedding and damage in the area of the barrel pins. Length 41 cm. Extraordinarily artistic pistol which can be easily improved by restoration. Condition: III +
