A German percussion rifle by N. C. Schön in Suhl, circa 1840 Rifled octagonal barrel in 15 mm caliber, adjustable rear sight and front sight on top, signature inlaid in silver. Lightly engraved percussion lock on the back with pistol guard (lock action defective), German set trigger. Full stock with patchbox and brass furniture, forearm on the right with recesses for a stag catcher attachment(?). Ramrod with brass tip. Signs of age and use, metal parts patinated, stock nose loose. Length 113 cm. Condition: III +
