A breech-loading salute cannon of the Vereinigte Pulverfabriken Rosenheim, circa 1900 Heavy iron barrel in 32 mm caliber for cartridge loading, Gustav Zimmermann system. Manufacturer's plate of the "Vereinigte Pulverfabriken Rosenheim, Inhaber Franz Winterholler" affixed above the chamber. Number 9751 stamped on barrel, modern proof mark from 2001. Original wooden mount with iron strap fittings. Cartridge box with breech and five modern cartridges turned from stainless steel, each with proof mark. Iron-framed spoked wheels. Barrel length 95 cm, total length 205 cm, width 108 cm. Typical German saluting cannon, as acquired by numerous veterans' associations after the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71. An identical piece owned by the local warriors' and veterans' association is still in Klingenberg a.M. today. Condition: II
