A silver cigarette case of the Ersatz-Abteilung 5 of the Kraftfahr-Bataillon Düsseldorf, dated 1914 Rectangular hinged silver case, punched crescent, crown, "800" and maker's mark "LK" on the inside edge. Hammered finish on the outside, enameled guard star (small chips) and engraving "Von Heiligenstedt" on the front. Dark blue cabochon on the clasp button. Inside the dedication engraving with the date "Weihnachten 1914" (Christmas 1914), with the names of the unit and officers, including "Major von Heiligenstedt". In matching leather sheath and later case (traces of ballpoint pen in the lid lining). Signs of use and age. Dimensions of the silver case 8 x 11.5 x 1 cm, weight 140 g. Condition: II
