Captain Johannes Abel - a photo album, 1916 A total of 77 small-format black and white photos (dimensions 5.5 x 5.5 cm to 8 x 11 cm), glued in (one photo missing), some labeled. Including dugouts, German officers, airship, military aircraft, artillery, group photos etc. as well as places on the Western Front such as Fouquières, Lievin, Illies. In old album (dimensions 18 x 25 x 1 cm). Partially slightly damaged, signs of age. Johannes Abel (born 1871) joined the Schutztruppe as a lieutenant on 30.11.1898, was promoted to first lieutenant on 15.12.1900 and to captain on 27.1.1908. On 22.4.1912 he was transferred to Cameroon. He was head of the Moschi military district and at times adjutant to Governor Count von Götzen. This photo album relates to his time in the imperial army after his return from Africa. Provenance: Directly from family property. Condition: II
