13 large-format photographs from German East Africa, circa 1900 Black-and-white photographs, mounted on cardboard (occasional tears, small losses), mostly labeled, including Dar-es-Salaam (commandant's office, harbor), parade for the Kaiser's birthday, wire rope bridge, Waniamussi family, etc., dated "1897" and "1898". Partially slightly damaged, signs of use and age. Photo dimensions 11 x 28 cm to 17 x 23 cm. From the estate of Johannes Abel (born 1871). He joined the Schutztruppe as a lieutenant on 30.11.1898, was promoted to first lieutenant on 15.12.1900 and to captain on 27.1.1908. On 22.4.1912 he was transferred to Cameroon. He was head of the Moschi military district and adjutant to the governor. Condition: II
