A shako for Saxon foot soldiers, circa 1870 Chambered piece. Felt body with black cloth cover (flaws), black lacquered peak, lid and collar leather. Gilt star on the front with silver-plated national coat of arms (probably from a train chako). Leather chinstrap, the national cockade on the right. Black horsehair plume inserted at the top. Inside lid stamped in white "S.R./ 4th Co./ 22nd", brown leather sweatband. Assembled, partially slightly damaged, signs of age. Condition: II - III
