Two Saxon infantry helmets, circa 1900 Helmet M 1895 for men of the Royal Saxon 1st Life Grenadier Regiment No. 100 with black lacquered leather body (crackled, rear seam open) and fittings of silver-plated nickel silver. Bolster (lower rivet missing). Silver-plated star with applied yellow national coat of arms beneath a crown. Plate with four round-headed screws, slender, smooth screw point. Flat cloth-lined chinscales on knob 91, both cockades made of lacquered sheet metal. Ochre-coloured leather flap lining (cracks, repairs), the old size designation "57" in the skull. Comes with a non-commissioned officer's infantry helmet with rough, cracked skull, gilt non-ferrous metal fittings, leather chinstrap on button 91, national cockade, rep lining and leather sweatband.
