A pair of bronze plaques showing Frederic II of Prussia and Moritz Count of Lacy, ca. 1770 Rectangular bronze plaques with beautiful age patina. Each with a sculpted bust portrait with engraved name. Depiction of the Prussian King Frederick II with armor and ermine coat, inscribed "Friedericus Borussorum Rex Invictus". The counterpart with a bust portrait of Count Moritz von Lacy in uniform, the Order of the Golden Fleece around his neck, inscribed "Co. Maurizio Lascy Feldemaresciallo". Each in a wooden frame lined with sheet copper. Dimensions 10.5 x 8 cm. Beautiful pair of plaques with Old Fritz and one of his adversaries. Franz Moritz Graf von Lacy took part in many battles of the Seven Years' War on the Austrian side as a field marshal and later field commander. In 1763 he became a court war councilor and in 1770 a Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Condition: II -
