Description
A helmet for officials of the province of Hanover, circa 1900 Black lacquered leather body (sunken, cracked, rubbed in places) with non-ferrous metal mountings. Screwed emblem with applied Saxon horse made of nickel silver. Cross blade with four white round-headed pommels, rigid, fluted officer's point, nickel silver neck guard. Leather chinstrap on geometric rosettes, without cockades. Remnants of the black leather lining on the inside. Partially damaged, signs of wear and age. Condition: III
