A helmet for officials, circa 1900 Incorrectly assembled. Black lacquered leather helmet (Gendarmerie, Austria) with round visors and white metal fittings. Later Prussian guard emblem. Cross blade with four round-headed screws, fluted screw point, neck guard, flat, leather-backed chinscales on geometric rosettes. Good black leather flap lining with "Schweidler" carrier label. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Condition: II
