Two European cartouche boxes, 19th/20th century Black patent leather, stitched, box rubbed, surface of lid rough, closing strap torn on the side, coupling tab on the back. A garnet symbol (Carabinieri?) applied to the lid. Also a smaller example with beautifully gilt non-ferrous metal overlay in the form of a large intertwined cipher, lid detached from the box, one side part missing, two of the straps well replaced.
