Body covered with black cloth, leather lid, leather peak, surrounding golden pattern border, double eagle emblem of gray metal (glued on) with applied number "3", inserted rose with red enameled crown (chipped). Purple silk lining (cloth label "Josef Blahen / Pribram"), brown leather sweatband. Without chin strap. Slightly damaged, signs of age. Condition: II - III

John S. Mosby Autograph Letter Signed on the "Annual Reunion of the Society of the Army of the Potomac" Fabled Confederate ranger (1833-1916) whose guerrilla band specialized in attacking and disrupting Union supply lines. He earned the nickname 'The Gray Ghost' for his clandestine and highly effective attack tactics. ALS signed “Jno. S. Mosby,” one page, 7.75 x 6.75, April 19, 1900. Addressed from San Francisco, a handwritten letter to Col. Horatio C. King, in full: “I have just rec’d your polite invitation to the Annual Reunion of the Society of the Army of the Potomac at Fredericksburg Va. on the fifth of May. It w’d give me great pleasure to be present with you, & I regret that I will not be able to be there.” In fine condition.

A pair of dinner plates from the military service for General Kleist von Nollendorf, KPM Berlin, 1817, conical shape, the Iron Cross in the center. The laurel wreath entwined with black and light red ribbons around the flag on a light pink background band. At the top the count's coat of arms in an oval reserve with a buff background. Blue sceptre mark, a black painter's mark I, a press number 34. Ø 23.5 cm. For his services in the Battle of Kulm and Nollendorf, Friedrich von Kleist (1762-1823) was elevated to the hereditary rank of count with the surname ''von Nollendorf'' by King Friedrich Wilhelm III on June 3, 1814. He sent the design for the coat of arms to KPM in January 1816 to the manufactory director Rosenstiel, whereupon the production of his service began. As early as October 1817, Rosenstiel was able to report the imminent completion and imminent dispatch to the ministry. Literature Cf. cat. Orders on royal porcelain. A set of verses, 1st half of the 20th century, wooden box, containing a pair of candlesticks, a small table cross and a holy water brush, all polished brass. Such a set was used, for example, for the anointing of the sick or the administration of the last rites. Box with key, two locking hooks and carrying handle.
