A sabre M 1827 for 7th Surrey Rifle Regiment officers Heavy single-edged blade with fullers on both sides, the maker's signature "Smith Leicester PLH London" etched at the root and the brass-inlaid proof mark "Proved", decorative etching on both sides, the ruler's cipher "GR" under the crown and "7th Surrey Rifles" with hunting horn. Iron knuckle-bow hilt, the hunting horn symbol of the hunters/riflemen under a crown on the guard plate, fish skin grip with triple copper wire winding. Iron scabbard (spotted) with two movable suspension rings and nickel silver mouth. Signs of wear and age. Length 101 cm. Condition: II
