Jean-Baptiste Girard (1775 - 1815), General of Napoleonic France - a letter with autograph, dated 1813 Letter in French, ink on paper, communication from the battalion commander Girard to the general staff of the army about the need for rations. Framed, behind glass, frame dimensions 23 x 28.5 cm. Yellowed, stained. Girard was recalled from Spain to take part in the Russian campaign of 1812 and took over the 28th Division in Marshal Victor's IX Corps. Comes with a steel engraving with a view of St. Petersburg in the original gilt frame from around 1820, framed dimensions 26.5 x 29 cm, and a framed metal plaque (small crack) with a relief of a French general, frame dimensions 15 x 14.5 cm.
