A King Haakon VII Freedom Cross, circa 1945 Silver, gilt Maltese cross (rubbed), white enameled (missing part), in the center a red enameled medallion with the monogram of King Haakon VII above the letter V for victory. On the reverse the maker's mark "J Tostrup 9255" and the inscription "Alt for Norge 7 juni 1945" ("Alles für Norwegen 7. Juni 1945" - On June 7, 1945 the king returned to Norway after his forced exile). Original blue ribbon with rs. Cross pin ("Tostrup"). Partially damaged, signs of age and wear. Width 42 mm. The Freedom Cross of King Haakon VII ("Haakon VIIs Frihetskors") was established in Norway on May 18, 1945 and awarded to Norwegians and foreigners for outstanding achievements during the war. Condition: II - III
