Ernst von Barth zu Harmating - a Commander's Cross of the Order of the Crown of Italy and a photo of it's bearer, circa 1900 Golden neck cross, multi-colored enamelled, on the collar ring, Remnants of the collar present. In a red velvet case made by Cravanzola, Rome, with a gold lid imprint of the ruler's cipher "U" under a crown for King Umberto I (1878 - 1900). Width of the cross 51 mm, weight 25 g. Comes with the photo (dimensions 16.5 x 11 cm) of the recipient of the order. According to the Bavarian Military Handbook of 1907, Ernst von Barth zu Harmating (former Chief of the General Staff) was the bearer of the order. He ended his military career in 1905 as a general of the infantry. Provenance: Family estate Verri della Bosia, von Barth zu Harmating, von Schirnding. Condition: II
