A French iron-cut sword, late 17th century A thrusting blade of lenticular cross-section with a fuller in the lower third, inscribed "INRII" and "MARIA". Chiselled iron knuckle-bow hilt with symmetrical, openwork guard plate and grip with elaborate copper wire winding and Turk's heads. Iron parts cleaned and pitted in places. Length 104 cm. Condition: III +
