Description

A pair of German cuisses in Maximilian style, 19th century Single-slipped upper diechling with a double, strongly laced rim. The upper side with finely worked 18-fold fullers. Triple-set, suitably fluted knucklebow. Large fullered wings on the sides with finely turned under rims. Remnants of the original leathering and strapping. The lowest attachment of the left leg lost, the individual bars slightly bent in places. Surfaces heavily darkened with oil stains. In need of cleaning and restoration. Length approx. 50 cm each. High-quality plater's work from a good historicism workshop. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of the kings of Hanover at Marienburg Castle. Condition: II - III
