Description
A Malaysian Kingfisher kris, 19th century Flamed iron blade with a silver-inlaid inscription on both sides and a lightly cut root. Cut and engraved silver mendak, the grip finely and very elaborately worked in the Kingfisher style with a dark patina (a shrinkage crack at the crown, slightly rubbed at the tip of the beak). Short kemuning wood wrangka and silver scabbard decorated with embossed vine cartouches (the point somewhat dented). Length 53 cm. Condition: II +
