A Japanese tanto, Edo period Blade hira tsukuri, narrow bohi on both sides, gilt habaki with neko gaki, blade abraded, hada and hamon not recognizable, kissaki with traces of corrosion. Iron tsuba, fuchi kashira not matching. Nakago with a mekugi ana, marked "Kanetsune"(?). Tsuka with grooved lacquer mount and dragonfly menukis. Grooved black lacquer saya (improperly restored), kozuka with wooden blade and handle depicting a dragon and bamboo. Length K/M 28.5 cm, total length 45 cm. Condition: III -
