A large Chinese jian (long-quan sword), 19th century Slender ridged blade with a narrow fuller, engraved with a dragon on one side and three characters, including "long quan", on the other. Brass quillons with a mascaron in relief, grip ferrule and pommel with simple floral engravings, fluted wooden grip. Black lacquered scabbard with relief and openwork depictions of dragons among clouds. Length 106 cm. Condition: II -
