A Russian shashka, late 19th century Older single-edged blade of the 18th century with double fullers on both sides. At the base plastered remnants of etched decoration, standing hussar figure, motto above. Grip scales of brownish plastic(?), iron pommel with fine gold inlay (defects). Replaced wooden scabbard with leather cover, old iron mountings with floral decoration inlaid in silver. Length 97 cm. Condition: II -
