An Ottoman-Greek nielloed silver set of cutlery, circa 1700 Two-piece cutlery set, the knife with a slender single-edged blade, slender two-pronged fork. Heavy silver handles with stylized bird head pommels. Finely carved and nielloed décor, on the underside of either handle the signature of a Greek silversmith. Wood scabbard with heavy silver coating. Richly embossed and nielloed flower decoration, the locket missing. Lateral movable suspension ring. Length 30.5 cm. Provenance: From an old Viennese private collection. Condition: II -
