Description

A pair of French fire-gilded appliqués, 19th century Bronze, fire-gilt. Each appliqué cast in the shape of a winged dragon with a curved neck. A stag's antlers in the dragon's mouth, each forming two even hooks. Powerful, scaled fangs can be seen in the side cut-outs of the elaborately structured skirt. Somewhat stained, the gilding rubbed in places. Comes with a pair of glass lamps (modern). Figure length 34 cm, height 31 cm. Highly decorative pair of figures. Condition: II
