Description

A large German iron door key, circa 1720 Rectangular lock case with an openwork cover plate in the form of foliate scrollwork with six screws. Mounted on a lock plate. One side of the lock plate decorated with openwork foliage. Latch with cut decoration (damaged). On the opposite side an inserted large latch with sculpted foliage decoration. Without key. Small defects, traces of corrosion. Dimensions 24 x 48.5 cm. Condition: II -

Collection of tax measures taken by the Duke of Savoy, Victor-Amédée II, on January 14, 1720 (except for one on August 28, 1721), concerning taxes to be levied in various places in Savoy and Piedmont, on all kinds of commodities: tobacco, brandy, stamped paper, etc., as well as on other goods. In August 1720, Victor-Amédée II, then King of Sicily, received the Kingdom of Sardinia in exchange for Sicily.
