A German pewter guild cup, 17th century Pewter with beautiful age patina. Foot with humped decoration and strong baluster shaft. The strongly articulated bowl with two rows of sculpted lion heads for the decoration. Surrounded by five engraved cartouches with carpenter's tools, one of which is inscribed "Der Meister und der Gesellen Willkomm". The remaining cartouches with master's name, further engraved names of guild members around the body. Unmarked, lid missing. Slightly dented. Height 38 cm. Condition: II -
