Description
A plate with Noah motif, Nuremberg, circa 1640 Decorative pewter plate in fine relief from the mold of the Nuremberg pewterer Paulus Öham. The mirror depicts Noah's sacrifice of thanksgiving with the inscription "Noe gieng aus der Arch, getrost opferdt Gott 1619". Four depictions from Genesis running around the rim, with vases of flowers in between. The mark of the foundryman Hans Spatz II, who worked in Nuremberg from 1630 to 1670, on the rim. Small, well-executed repair to the rim. Diameter 17.6 cm, weight 187 g. Condition: II
