A Meissen porcelain group "Cupid on Whetstone", circa 1870 Porcelain, painted in color, partly painted gold. On a rock base. Depiction of two cupids under a tree. Underglaze blue sword mark with a grinding stroke, model no. "E26" and turner's no. "147". Many breaks (leaves, sword, torch, fingers etc.). Dimensions 21 x 11 x 11 cm. Condition: III - IV

Fighting sabre antelopes, Meissen, Knauff Schwerter 1850-1924, 2nd choice, designed by Otto Pilz in 1912, signed on the base, model no. B253, A dynamically moving, naturalistically worked group of two sabre antelopes jumping over each other in playful combat on a flat base. Polychrome underglaze painting. Fired crack, restored, h. 30 cm Pilz is best known for his naturalistic, dynamically animated animal figures, which he produced as a freelance sculptor for the Meissen manufactory from 1905.
