Description
An enameled glass showing the arms of the Counts of Pocci, Petersdorf, Fritz Heckert, circa 1880 Colorless, slightly greyish glass, the strong base with a hand crack. Polychrome decoration in enamel colors all around the slightly conical wall. On the front the coat of arms of the Counts of Pocci, inscribed "Graf von Pocci 1766". The gilding on the rim heavily plastered. Height 8 cm. The Italian-born officer Count Fabrizio Evaristo von Pocci (1766 - 1844), who entered Bavarian service under Elector Karl Theodor, was the father of Franz von Pocci, the famous German draughtsman, etcher, writer, musician and composer.
