Description

Big unguentarium made of honey-colored glass, Roman, 1st century A.D. Large, spindle-shaped vessel, with maximum width above the lower quarter. Pointed at the bottom with a rounded end. Long, conical neck with a slightly outward-pointing, angular rim lip. The honey-colored ground is interspersed with white stripes in feather decoration. Assembled from earthenware, without flaws. Height 30.5 cm. Provenance: South German private property, taken over from the grandfather's collection. Condition: III +
