A modern 21ct gold ring showing the Catholic Monarchs of Spain Isabella I of Castile (r. 1474 - 1504) and King Ferdinand II of Aragon (r. 1474 - 1516) 21kt yellow gold. The ring band is finely open-worked towards the front. It encloses the rectangular ring plate, which has an inlaid plaque with a relief depiction of Isabella I and Ferdinand II and the inscription "Isabel Ferdinand 1475 1506". Ring shank indistinctly marked. Ring size 55, weight 5.19 g. Ferdinand the Catholic was King of Sicily from 1468, from 1474 to 1504 he was King of Castile and León together with his wife Isabella as Ferdinand V, and from 1479 he ruled the realms of the Crown of Aragon as Ferdinand II.
