A Gabonese female figure of the Punu and a relic shrine of the Fang, 20th century Full-round carved wooden standing figure of a breastfeeding woman with a child in her arms. Remains of kaolin painting and a typical scar tattoo on the face. Rubbed and slightly bumped on the legs. Height m.s. 65 cm. Comes with a woven reliquary supported by three wooden guardian figures in different poses with a central head attachment (lid handle). Nail eyes and remnants of feather decoration (domestic birds). Some losses and signs of age. Dimensions approx. 34 x 48 cm. Condition: III +
