Description
Four German seals, 17th - 19th century Double-sided brass seal with a strong, indented shaft. Both seal faces with one and three house marks respectively. Bumped. Comes with three smaller dies, one of which is made of iron with dark age patina. One example is a seal of the united butchers' and bakers' guild, inscribed "M W" on the loaf of bread. Height 11 cm, diameter 23 x 38 mm or 20, 22 and 26 mm. Provenance: British matrix collection David Morris. Condition: II
