Description
Bacchus on a wine barrel, probably German, 17th century Boxwood figurine on a diamond-shaped plinth. Three-quarter carved figure of a sturdy Bacchus, leaning back on a barrel between mountains of grapes. Pinned and slightly rubbed. The upper body broken off and restored, the outstretched right arm and one edge of the barrel lost, corners bumped. Two holes on the underside. Dimensions 11.5 x 17.5 cm. Condition: II - III
