A small collection of Thai and Chinese ceramics, 15th - 20h century Seven objects made of glazed ceramics of Asian origin. Including an early Thai Sawankhalok lidded jar, probably from the 15th/16th century (lid not belonging and restored), a small brown-glazed vessel, a deep (repaired) bowl with blue underglaze painting and a small cream-colored bowl with beautiful craquellée, each probably from the same cultural area. In addition, two probably Chinese pots, glazed white and yellow respectively (glaze defects, small flaws on the yellow pot). Also a large, expansive bowl on a high stand ring with green leaf decoration and finely fluted walls (Vietnamese(?), the rim slightly chipped). Diameter 12 - 31 cm, height 6.5 - 14 cm. Condition: II - III

Gebräuchen, Landschaften, Genredarstellungen, Theater- und historischen Szenen. - Das chinesische Neujahrsfest ist auch im heutigen China noch die wichtigste Feierlichkeit und im Westen vor allem als "Chinesisches Mondneujahr" bekannt. Mit den Neujahrsbildern soll insbesondere der Wunsch der Menschen nach Ruhe, Frieden, Wohlstand und Wohlergehen ausgedrückt werden. The New Year images are particularly intended to express the people's wish for tranquillity, peace, wealth and well-being. The pictures, which were placed throughout the house and printed in warm colours, had the particular task of banishing the evil demons and summoning the good spirits. - Partly with centrefold or folded several times, paper partly slightly browned and somewhat creased in the margins, some sheets with small tears.
