Description
A Persian/Indian engraved brass jug, lavabo and lota vase, 18th/19th century Small, bulbous jug with a retracted neck and grooved lip, the spout in the shape of an animal's head. The body finely engraved all over and with traces of silver plating. The miniature washbasin similarly decorated and silver-inlaid, with a small crack in the base. This example was probably used for incineration. Height 8 cm, diameter 10 cm. Comes with a beautifully shaped, bulbous lota vase on four small feet. Slightly fluted wall, merging into a deeply fluted neck and strong lip. Slightly stained. Height 14 cm. Condition: II
