An oil lamp from the Chinese Tek Sing shipwreck, 1822 Gray body. On a round hollow foot, body with elongated, tapering neck. Drip pan with steeply rising rim. Coral decoration. Height 23.5 cm. The Tek Sing, a junk from Xiamen in China, sank in 1822 with around 1600 people and a large porcelain treasure; the wreck was rediscovered in 1999 and large parts of the inventory were salvaged.
