A western European palstave axe, Late Bronze Age, 13th century B.C. Slightly inwardly curved neck. Narrow butt with upper, slightly inwardly curved ridges, already merging into lobes. Flaring out at the transition to the blade, with a central heel curving towards the blade. The blade trapezoidal, widening towards the slightly curved edge. Minimal nicks on the edge of the blade and the rims, otherwise very well preserved and intact. Dark green patina with light incrustations. Length 16.8 cm Provenance: From an old Belgian private collection, acquired in the Belgian art trade in the 1980s. Condition: II
