Description
Ten small Hellenistic and Roman antiquities made of lead, bronze, clay and jet, 3rd century B.C. - 1st century A.D. 1 - 6) Lead objects: three Hellenistic sling leads, one with an inscription (length 3.1 - 3.3 cm), a lead seal with an eye on one side. A market weight of two ounces with "B" on one side and a three-line Greek inscription on the other (acquired from Majestic in 2001, dimensions 5 cm x 4 cm). A pyramidal lead weight with an "M" on the bottom, perforated at the top (height 4.8 cm). 7) A similar weight made of clay (height 5.6 cm). 8) A small astragal (cube in the shape of a spring leg), carved from gagat (length 9 mm). 9) Small bronze mirror (diameter 4.4 cm). 10) Sestertius of Nero (bronze) with portrait facing left, the reverse turned out on an antique lathe with stepped border and two turning grooves on the rim (diameter 3.3 cm).
