Two Greek bowls with handles made of black-glazed pottery, 4th century B.C. Two beautiful drinking bowls with a stem foot under a flat, slightly retracted belly and funnel-shaped rim with a slightly outward-pointing lip. Long handles attached at the level of the rim, pointing slightly upwards. Intact apart from minimal flaking of the glossy clay coating. Height 8 cm each, width from handle to handle 19 and 19.5 cm. Provenance: Frankfurt private collection. Acquired at Hermann Historica in April 2016 (auction 72, lot 4566). Previously South German private collection, acquired in the 1980s in the art trade.
