Description

ÉMAUX D'ART DE LONGWY Two commemorative ceramic dishes with circular body on ring heel. The first by Maurice-Paul Chevallier for the centenary of the Médaille militaire (1852-1952), with enamel decoration of a laurel wreath surrounding a medal bearing the motto 'Valeur et discipline' and a frieze of stylized flowers and foliage on the marli. The second, made by Paul Mignon for the cent-cinquantenaire de la Légion d'honneur (1802-1952), is enamelled with an eagle and a Legion d'honneur in the central part and a frieze of stylized palmettes and crossbows on the rim. Signed, maker's stamp, justified 350 for the first and 6 for the second. H. 3 - D. 37 cm each
