Tan calf, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt title, double gilt fillet framing the boards (early 17th c. binding). Covers torn off, corners dull, rubbed and spotted. Second edition of the translation by Jean de Amelin, of Sarlat, containing the very rare first edition of Pierre de RONSARD's poem ""Elégie aux lecteurs par P. de Ronsard vandômois"" (leaves ã 4-6), which was reprinted the same year in the Second livre des Meslanges, Paris (four known copies, one incomplete). Light marginal staining in places. Good condition inside, with wide margins. Armorial bookplate (with pomegranates) torn.
