In-8, half eggplant long-grain morocco with corners, edged with gilt fillet, two-ribbed spine with central brown morocco title-piece, set in a gilt frame, decorated with a series of brown rings, interlaced to form a vertical chain. Black morocco lined counterspreads, decorated with a large mosaic design, depicting a gilded chain and its ball on a necklace of flowers with brown branches and flowers with bistre hearts and brown petals. The boards of the binding and the free endpapers are painted with landscape decorations, floral motifs or a bird of paradise, all in Japanese style. Cover and spine preserved, gilt head. Edition of 500 copies. One of 150 copies on vellum or Japon (45) like this one. N°34, with 3 states of etchings (pure etching with remarks, etchings finished before the letter with remarks, etching finished with the letter). Enriched with a fourth suite with remarks, colored, a small watercolor by Le BLANT (Cossack on horseback) 4 x 3.3 cm) and the 6 original wash etchings (21.3 x 14.6 cm). The 2-f. subscription form detailing the justification is enclosed in fine. Ex in very good condition, beautifully bound and illustrated.
