In-4, rel. demi-maroquin à coins, very dark green, edged with gilt fillet, smooth mosaic spine, poppies at head and tail of spine, and two other flowers, façon, jasmine, and clematis, with 4 black bands diagonally across each flower, gilt title and head, cover preserved, rel. de Carayon,, Ex-libris. Edition announced at 50 copies on Japon with two states of the engravings (N°9). Our copy includes 3: the two pure etching states, signed in the margin in pencil by Champollion, and the etching before lettering, plus one state, on Whatmann-type paper, giving the final proof with the letter watercolored by hand. The watercolors have sporadic foxing in the margins, only one is directly affected, nevertheless, fine ex.
