Paris, Impr. de Crapelet, chez Lefèvre, 1816. 6 vols. in-8, eggplant long-grained full morocco, five-rib spine decorated with gilt pearl fillet, gilt fleuron between the ribbons, gilt pallet on tail, gilt title & tomaison, double gilt and cold framing on covers, gilt edges, inner lace (signed Simier); XCVIII-434; 494, 541, 504, 464 and 559 pp, engraved portrait by Devilliers on front. And 2 folding maps after Louvet in T. I. Spines slightly faded to brown, tiny scratches on some boards, a few foxing marks, very good overall condition. One of the rarest copies on large paper (marked "11th of 21 ex. grand-raisin vellum" in T. I). "This edition, one of the most esteemed, very well printed, has the advantage of being more complete than previous editions. There are copies on vellum paper, of which only about twenty are on large paper. The latter are highly sought-after, and deserve to be". (Quérard, VI -244), (Brunet, III -1859).
