Regrets that the grapes sent to him arrived in poor condition. He tells of Willette's wedding: "He had received threats from 'la Crâneuse', and was somewhat worried, so he mobilized a few concierges and charcoal burners to stand guard outside the door"; he came by automobile carriage "which had all the trouble in the world to get up rue Lepic", then there was lunch at Julien's. He will try to make the wedding a success. He's going to try to do some good work: "I'm taking Pelletan's drawings and I also have to do the poster for the Journal these days - I'm in a hurry -. We only live on Gil Blas"... Monday noon [September 7th]. He sends her money because he has had "a visit from a young American artist who bought me 2 drawings for 300 frs" and mother Embry has sold "the painting (woman and men under the gas burner) the pastel, the yellow woman - and a drawing for 150 frs - that makes 800 frs in all"...
