Émile GOUDEAU (1849-1906). Autograph poem signed, Les Fous, and 3 L.A.S., [late 1895], to Steinlen; 4pages small in-fol. (31 x 10 cm), and 3 pages in-8, one envelope. Long poem published in Gil Blas, December 15, 1895, with cover designed by Steinlen."Le Vertige noir les invite A gambiller sur le chemin: Les Fous vont vite, vite, vite!Sait-on-on qui sera fou demain?"... At the end, Goudeau specifies that this poem is taken from his forthcoming collection, Chansons de Paris et d'Ailleurs... The letters concern the dispatch of this poem, which Goudeau must have recopied for Steinlen. Then he congratulates Steinlen on his drawing: "It's perfect, extra-perfect. Les Fous couldn't have found a better interpreter. And what beautiful madness!"... Attached is a l.s. from Henri-Joseph to Steinlen about a publication of Le Gardénia in homage to Goudeau (Oct. 6, 1920). + juillet 23100 n°215))
